VIDEO RECAP: June 2017
June was a big month! If you've followed my channel for a while you'll have probably noticed that I upload twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays). This month I decided to do something different and film an entire week dedicated to the Minimalism Series with a video going up each day on a different topic. I filmed these prior to my trip to Japan and had them sitting there ready to go for when I got back.
Two videos from Japan also went up this month, a more casual vlog where I show you guys my exercise and also some of what I'm eating (still keto!) and a more polished travel video which covers the whole trip! Keep reading to learn more about your favourite uploads from this month, or to catch up on what you might have missed!
PCOS VLOG: JAPAN
While I was in Japan I decided to film another video for my PCOS vlog series about how I was eating and exercising whilst travelling. A lot of people seem to think it's difficult to stick to your eating habits and training while you're away, but I wanted to show it's actually not hard at all, it's just a matter of where your priorities lie. If you choose to prioritise your health, everything else will just fall in line.
MINIMALISM WEEK DAY 1: MAKEUP DECLUTTER
Day 1 of minimalism week! In this video I go through and show you guys all of my makeup products as I am decluttering them. I own a lot less than I used to, but I wanted to go through and do a check-up and make sure there weren't things sitting in my makeup bag that are being unused.
MINIMALISM WEEK DAY 2: PACKING
Packing my bag for a two week trip away and I show you guys what goes into it. This is my ideal packing situation, where everything can fit into carry-on and the wardrobe pieces are versatile.
MINIMALISM WEEK DAY 3: HOW TO FOCUS
Some tips from me on how minimalism can help you focus better, and things that you can do to get the most out of your work time.
MINIMALISM WEEK DAY 4: THINGS MINIMALISTS WON'T DO
This was a more relaxed video, where instead of tips, I wanted to show some more of my perspective on minimalism. 'Things that minimalists won't do' being a title to convey stresses that a minimalist typically won't feel, or things that a lot of us don't list as a priority.
MINIMALISM WEEK DAY 5: WARDROBE REFRESH
Simple and affordable things that you can do to refresh your wardrobe and update your look without having to go and purchase heaps of new pieces.
MINIMALISM WEEK DAY 6: SKINCARE DECLUTTER
Taking you through all of my skincare products, I show you what I keep and what I don't, and why I made those choices.
MINIMALISM WEEK DAY 7: TIME MANAGEMENT
In this video I share some of my time management tips to get yourself a schedule, or smash through the one that you currently have.
A video update on my experience with following a keto diet. Again this is just a sit-down chatty video where I share my experience and my current results. I talk about training, food, and add in some tips that I think would be helpful to anyone looking to transition to keto. This video is simply about my experience and shouldn't be used as medical advice, please always contact your preferred healthcare professional before making any major diet and lifestyle changes.
My travel dairy from Japan. I actually finished making this one a while ago, but this was the first empty spot I had in my video roster to actually get it uploaded. Journey with me to Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, The Rabbit Island and even see the Grand Torii Gate. I make these videos mostly for myself to look back on, I often don't want to watch any of my videos after they've been uploaded, but a travel diary is something I will rewatch.
I like to see how I can improve my skills for the next one I will make, and also it's fun to just look back on what we did during a trip. For this video I was able to use some fantastic tracks by some Australian artists (they're all linked in the description) and to keep the journal sort of vibe for myself I wanted to hand-write the titles with my casual cursive writing. I knew not everyone would be able to read it, or wouldn't bother to read my blog post about Japan so would probably make a little complaint (which did happen haha!) but, that I was a stylistic choice I was willing to make.
MEAL PREP MADE EASY
Some of my tips on how to plan your meal prep and make sure that you're not wasting food and cooking things that you're not going to eat. It's easy to go into meal prepping with all of these great intentions, but what happens if you don't really like the food you're cooking, or you get bored of eating all the same things all the time?
GET READY WITH ME
I haven't filmed a get ready with me in a while, so I wanted to make one of my short videos where I give myself some more creative freedom. Personally I dislike those sit down and chat type videos, and I know people get annoyed by the more arty ones, but hey, I do them for me, or else I wouldn't really want to be making videos at all.
MINIMALISM SERIES: create your perfect workspace
For this video I worked in collaboration with Minimalism Amino (follow me: Rachel Aust) to show you the elements I use to create my 'perfect' workspace.
BULLET JOURNAL: JULY
Back to the bullet journal, with some slight layout adjustments! I also want to do a blog post will a month of a full journal so I can show you guys how it's been used :)
